Why Los Gatos
What we love about Los Gatos for family sessions.
Los Gatos and Vasona Park are the easy, green option for families in the South Bay and Silicon Valley who don't want to make the drive to the coast. Big lawns, oak shade, a lake, and light that filters beautifully through the trees in the late afternoon. If you've got young kids or a packed weekend, this is the low-logistics pick: central, relaxed, and done before anyone melts down. Heads up: the county charges a few bucks to park at Vasona, about the only fee you'll hit all day.
Best time of year
Spring for green grass, fall for warm light. The park shoots well most of the year.
