What we love about Woodside for family sessions.
Woodside and the Filoli estate give families a backdrop you won't find anywhere else on the Peninsula: formal English gardens, clipped hedges, a historic house, and grounds that change dramatically with the season. Dressier than a beach or a park, it suits milestone portraits, anniversaries, and holiday sessions that call for a collared shirt. Know before you book: Filoli is a ticketed garden with set hours, so this one gets planned in advance rather than decided at lunch. The manicured paths make it easy for every age to get around.
Best time of year
Spring for blossoms and tulips, fall for warm color. Filoli's daily hours set the window, so we plan around them.
