Why Pacific Grove
What we love about Pacific Grove for family sessions.
Pacific Grove wraps the tip of the Monterey Peninsula in rocky coast, tide pools, and the bright coves around Lover's Point. It's quieter and more relaxed than Carmel a few minutes south, with wide-open shoreline that photographs beautifully late in the day. The mix of sand, rock, and sea means every setup looks different without moving the car. We time it for the tide, and if you come between October and February, the monarch butterflies are wintering a few blocks inland; worth the five-minute detour.
Best time of year
Spring and fall for the clearest skies; summer mornings can be foggy along the point but often burn off by afternoon.
