Why Aptos
What we love about Aptos for family sessions.
Aptos gives you two very different backdrops within a few minutes of each other: the wide, quiet sand of Seacliff and Rio del Mar beaches, and the redwood cathedral of Nisene Marks. We shoot a lot of families here who want the coast without the Santa Cruz crowds, plus a good number of senior sessions in the forest. The beaches are flat, deep and very walkable; Nisene has easy trails if you want green instead of blue. Easy in, easy out, and rarely packed.
Best time of year
Spring and fall for the beaches; the shaded redwoods shoot well most of the year.
